For our final trio prompt of the year, write about any topic you wish, but make sure your post features a bookcase, something cracked, and a song you love.
Natasha is busy writing reports this morning as she listens to her favourite music on the background. She finally found that reference book from the bookcase standing at the corner of the room. As a parole officer, she has to present reports of offenders to courts of law. She loves her job – supervising offenders released from incarceration or sentence to non-custodial sanctions such as community service.
On her way to the office, she accidentally steps on a hairline crack down the middle of the tile. She’s normally very careful about these things, because she’s got some superstitious beliefs and that could mean a warning. That afternoon, as she was visiting an offender’s place of work for her investigation, she caught Oliver following her. “How dare he!” she mused to herself. “Doesn’t he trust me?”
