Fairytale Prompt #42: The Old Oak Tree

The old oak tree in the middle of the forest
My mind reigns supreme above the rest
The leaves embracing their trunk
I’ll probably go home and get drunk
Higher and higher they all went
And other lunchroom condiment
The roots grow forever to great depths
Birds have died a thousand and one deaths
If you go up the stairs, where do they lead you?
The tree of life dripping with blood stained dew
Is the fairy godmother giving you a nice dress?
The bad stepmother might like to confess
Or the evil witch brewing her cauldron?
All I want are sausages, cheese and bacon
Wait! There’s a sleeping princess up there
Prince Charming coming from nowhere
Hush! The pretty princess might wake up
When true love’s kiss comes and wakes her up
