“We hate most in others, what we dislike in ourselves”

leaf

We hate most in others, what we dislike in ourselves
I was confused and into my own research on the matter delved
For the first time, the naked truth comes to my world
When people stalk, it made me want to hurl
When the river runs wild and the red flag is up
Inside me some clarity can start building up
I usually forgive the others but not myself
The truth is, I should be kinder to myself
And I fly with my wings to the plains
Hoping they’re all gone, the pains

  1. The title & first line is almost a haiku or a senryu:

    We hate most in
    others what we dislike
    in ourselves.

A terrific poem that beguiles while it cajoles.
