Green Wheat Field with Cypress, Vincent van Gogh 1889, Narodni Gallery, Prague

green wheat field
with cypress and grass
on a clear day
a sweet place for picnic
with red wine and baguette
green wheat field

pristine day
crisp afternoon air
scent of flowers
with soft background music
coming from the radio
pristine day

birds singing
nature’s our witness
falling asleep
waking up on your arm
watching the sun go down
birds singing

you and me
two bodies one soul
grass tickling us
holding hands, whispering
promising each other
you and me

green wheat field
pristine day
birds singing
you and me
(loving you)

  1. Splendid … you did this very nicely and i like how you integrated the shadorma into the poem … it was an interesting twist too using syllables instead of words – the poem flowed nicely … Bravo!

      1. I just read the others and most people have done syllables instead of words too … I guess we’re all used to writing haiku or shadorma or whatever, so I should have emphasized words, but that’s not a real problem anyway( I myself found myself counting syllable instead of words at one point)the poem read beautifully.
