The Book That Never Was

started with little things then escalate
he misunderstood what she said, she cried
not met – expectations and promises

they’re not on the same page, as they debate
in the end they chuck the book as their guide
life’s tough and they’re losing to their grimace

they carried on but they get frustrated
that book has no answer, as they both sighed
it was all aimless, shadow and blackness

they part as friends before it was too late
they’re not meant to be, even if they tried
they kissed and said goodbye without a fuss

all because of the book that never was
end of a chapter, time for alohas
