What lies behind that Norman door?
A door so old and intricate
Shall we go and see its core?
Church in the middle of a moor
I bet inside is the abbot
What lies behind that Norman door?
It looks like a place to explore
Might have some medieval banquet
Shall we go and see its core?
Imagine what it was before
Men must wear blazer and ascot
What lies behind that Norman door?
I heard a creak, I am not sure
We’re here together, don’t say but
Shall we go and see its core?
Bet it’s full of treasure and more
We’re just curious, we’re not bandits
What lies behind that Norman door?
Shall we go and see its core?

Love this poem. The repitition is really used well. Making the reader more and more curious as to what is behind the door. And what used to be behind the Norman door. Well written.

Oh, I do love your poem! You definitely have me wondering about what’s is/was behind the door. Nice work.
