I waited for you all evening and you didn’t come. I wore a nice red gown, I thought you would like it. I put my hair up like what you preferred. We were supposed to celebrate the first day we met, like it was just yesterday. But the candle has burned out and you were still nowhere near me. Where were you, my beloved?
Meanwhile, the sound of the siren from the ambulance was loud and the paramedics were taking a man to the emergency room. He was hit by a car as he hurriedly crossed the street. “I’ve got to be there, she’s waiting for me,” he whispered before he lost consciousness again.
Oh how very sad! I hope that he makes it. This sort of scenario plays out way too often. 😦
Have a blessed evening.
