Perfect strangers

we met and both our lives changed, somehow brighter
every time we ask ourselves, we can’t figure out why
yes, we don’t really need to know why and the answer
so long as we’re both happy, I’m yours, you’re my guy
over time, we’ll see how things go, for now, as we were
rain or shine, together or apart, friends or strangers*
