Autobiographical Snippet

so lovely 🙂

No Talent For Certainty

The only side she ever saw was hers;
The only side I ever saw was mine.
For every day, most places, this occurs,
As in our own terms we the world define.

And so we let each other go at last;
I to my folly, her to sapience --
Until, one day, it happened she went past,
And roused me from my frozen indolence --

I swore to her I was a better man,
And that her love was all the world to me:
But she saw through me, ere the words began,
The wisdom found in quiet empathy.

  She then said words that to this day, still haunt:
  "You have yourself. That's all you really want."
