Finish it! #12 – The Reunion

She looked stunning. Her long, mahogany hair was softly running along the sides of her face, framing it, making her features stand out. Her skin seemed flawless, her lips soft. He wanted her. Here and now. But he knew he had to wait. It was not the time nor the place. He could tell that she longed for him too. He could see it in her eyes. If only… Why was it so complicated?

If only they could bring back the past. The lost times. The ones they missed. The ones when they were busy building their lives that they were diverted to other things.

They were the best of friends in school, wherever she was, he was there, too. They shared their snacks, they walked to school together, went to the chapel every day. They were allies, sometimes enemies, but would always patched things up straight away. For some reasons, they were separated. Her family moved to another country. There was no way to contact each other. It was hard for both of them, but life went on.

Thirty years later, they saw each other again in the school reunion. It was awkward at first, not knowing what to say, how to react to each other. But then they got talking, it was as if they were never separated. They were the same people, with their own humour and personalities. They were laughing and finishing each other’s sentences.

She looked stunning, he looked handsome. They were good together. But it was not the time nor the place. They could not have each other. It was complicated. She has to go back to her family in the other country. He has got his in this country. She was happy with her husband and children. He was proud of his children. They both didn’t want to break their own families. If only they could bring back the past…

Finish It! #8 – Off She Went

She was standing there, trembling. Her feet right on the edge, wondering how deep the drop might be. Her heart was racing. She was determined. She started controlling her breath, it was something they taught her. One of the few good things she got out of it.

She always said she’d be brave, that she’d try everything. She was sure that it would build her confidence and might be able to help her forget about him. Him, the person to whom she dedicated her life but in the end, left her. He, the one who made her lost her confidence because he was always in control. He, the one who hurt her.

Today was the start of the new her. She signed up for some adventure training and today they were going to bungee jump from the top of the cliff. The tall crane was set up, they were given some instructions on what to do and some encouragement that they could do it. As she stood there, she was determined to make it. So she counted quietly in her head, said a little prayer, controlled her breathing and off she went!
