We’ve done it – yay!!! It was a fun month just jotting it. Thanks, Linda G. Hill for hosting the event and thanks to all fellow bloggers who participated. I’ve enjoyed taking part, reading the others, liking, commenting, etc. I haven’t done 31 days jotting but I think it’s also OK. So, here’s to all of us, cheers!!!

Just Jot It January 30th – An- #SoCS

Hello everyone! From an attic, I’m ready for an adventure, flying on an airplane and going to an island. Ready for an outing with the family with an apple and an orange on my bag. Playing an old instrument, wearing an engagement ring, listening to an orchestra. They will be playing an oldie, something that is an awesome way that brings back memories of the past. I’m also listening to Amy Winehouse, singing an Addicted, bless her soul. I also would like to go to an opera, with an aria and lovely singing. Is that an envy I detect? Don’t be, I’m sure you’ll have an adventure, too. Have an amazing week, everyone!

Just Jot It January 29th – Ghost

4605678_orig

It happened again! This was the second time that I have seen her ghost. She was wearing a flowing white wedding gown, barefoot, her long hair cascading and she was running. I was taking photos of some of the spring flowers that were peeking out in the garden – cherry blossoms, crocuses, daffodils and some tulips. When I looked at the photos, she was there in the background; just some part of her gown was shown. The first time I saw her, she was coming down the stairs, also in a rush. I just saw some parts of her black hair. I thought I was just imagining things, but that time, it was also very cold in that part of the house.

I rang my mother straight away and she said it was probably my great, great ancestor Maria Clara who was supposed to get married but the groom didn’t turn up. Ibarra, the groom was on his way to the church when he was captured by the Spanish Civil Guards. They accused him of rebellion and sentenced to be hanged. Maria Clara went to see him in prison but they denied her of that right. She went berserk and tried to kill the guard. In his defence, the guard shot her. It was very tragic.

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Praise Be” by Yusef Komunyakaa: guilty, mossy, witness, sway, glint, praise, woe, disappearing, fierce, hush, look, going

We’re nearly there and we have to keep going
Praise the Lord for managing to continue
Look, I could see a glint of hope at the end
The mossy garden with herbs is my witness
Hush, don’t feel guilty for not doing other things
As the leaves sway with the winds, be happy
Our sense of woe slowly disappearing
We are compelled to continue until the end
To give us some sort of satisfaction – yay!

Surreptitiously

collage-15

Harrowing, adjective: acutely distressing.

Imperfect, adjective: not perfect; faulty or incomplete.

Lame, adjective: (of a person or animal) unable to walk normally because of an injury or illness affecting the leg or foot, (of an explanation or excuse) unconvincingly feeble, (of something intended to be entertaining) uninspiring and dull, (of a person) naive or inept, especially socially.

“Never let go of that fiery sadness called desire”
That’s from Patti Smith – openly or surreptitiously
A gentleman or a scoundrel, unemployed or an esquire
He could be imperfect as long as he makes her crazy
Lame excuse to have an affair, but life is too short
Might have a harrowing experience because of it
Why would convention this relationship thwart?
Mind blowing ecstasy and thrilling she must admit

Just Jot It January 19th – Climate

Nature always wears the colours of the spirit
Could be cold, hot, windy, sunny or any climate
Nature becomes me, going with or against the flow
Every day is different, enjoying the sun, the rain or snow
On top of the world, we kissed and nature’s our witness
Look around us, trees, birds, hills – they’re all breathless
Daffodils are popping out, cheerful bulbs burst into life
Spring is here, part of our life now and the afterlife
Summer morning, all serene, flower’s scent is heaven
Starting the day on this bright day, clouds like cotton
Autumn’s golden voice, sings with birds and flowers
Don’t forget the palm, coconut, banana trees and firs
Leaves had fallen on cold days, winter is wonderful
Time to have our Christmas tree with tinsel and bauble
Reflection through an early dawn or the lovely sunset
Admiring some stone friezes curved with rosette

Tiger, tiger you’re astonishing
The sight of you made me marvel
With open mouth and wide eyes
I truly can’t believe I’m seeing you
Such brilliant creature in this jungle

It took us two days of jeep safari
The first afternoon we observed other animals
Antelopes, peacocks, parakeets, deer
Loved them, too but we didn’t come here for them
We crossed half the world waiting for you

The next morning, quite so early
The jeep came to fetch us, still yawning
Bouncing up and down the rough terrain
Taking photos of different birds and monkeys
Took a different gate this time, I think it was Gate 2

Tiger, tiger, I thought we were not going to spot you
A couple of hours and we were still driving in this forest
Up and down, quite a site of the mountain range
Got talking to the couple beside me
They were going to Goa after the tour

But lo and behold, other jeeps in one place
That was a good sign, wasn’t it?
They were gazing in the middle of the meadow
There! There it is! Pointed the girl
We all stared in amazement and there you were

Tiger, tiger, you were worth the wait
Such gorgeousness, such elegance and grace
The whole field your recreational area
And look who was coming to play with you
Your brother as elegant as you

Two splendid tigers in one morning
Such a breathtaking experience
Two dynamic tigers in the grassland
Playing, messing around
The whole world to themselves

Tigers, tigers you were the greatest
I won’t stop thinking about the two of you
Highlight of our holiday
You and the Taj Mahal
India in my heart

Just Jot It January 17th – Collection

I collect memories of the past
They went so fast and such a blast
I collect tickets of our travel
There’s no such thing as dull
I collect photos of everything
Flowers, sky, they keep on adding
I collect shoes and bags
Mugs, DVDs, CDs and flags
I collect all our experiences
Positive, negative, such a balance
I collect memories we share
In my heart and handle them with care

Snow This Morning

What a beautiful day! I woke up this morning to this pure and bright snowy day. Him Indoors had to shovel the snow in our garden path, as well as the front of our house, between the garages. He didn’t mind at all, it’s like his morning exercise. And I have to take lots of photos. I love taking photos, especially of the different seasons. Just like Thursday morning, we came back from our morning swim and the sky was brilliant. Sunny morning, clear sky, we can see the Alps from our place. Simply wonderful!
