Landscape’s calling

landscape’s calling and I’m here to answer
walking to the trail of serenity
landscape’s calling and I’m here to answer

feeling the sand in my toes and I’m free
the sound of the water as it hits rocks
walking to the trail of serenity

thousand of tree swallows, all in their flocks
American robins and other birds
the sound of the water as it hits rocks

enjoying all these then I go homewards
being part of nature is always fun
American robins and other birds

sky is blue, clouds are white and a bright sun
heaven on earth, what I always wanted
being part of nature is always fun

nature around us, life is so splendid
landscape’s calling and I’m here to answer
heaven on earth, what I always wanted
landscape’s calling and I’m here to answer*

An Ode to Trees

the trees in the forest
with the tall mossy pines
their shadows on either side
lifted their branches to the sky
inspiring my mind to heady heights
imagination run high as I walk in the woods
I need the forest for my soul to recharge
for the trees give me strength and hope
and the sound of the birds and bees
as they spread seedlings
and the wind embraces me
ah! bliss and happiness

Poetry Prompts Day 18 – OctPoWriMo 2016 – Senseless

ann-frank-quote

It is not enough
to talk of
senseless hatred
irrational violence
or senseless evil
in this world
no matter how hard
it may be
for us to understand
an absurd waste
of human lives
and total failure
we have to take
responsibility ourselves
no more empty promises
we have to see sense
stop the silliness
do something good
let there be peace

Poetry Prompts Day 17 – OctPoWriMo 2016 -Savoury

dsc02521

Food, glorious, food, thou art so flavourful
With chicken and salmon teriyaki
Sashimi, caviar, tea, we can’t grumble
Spring rolls, salad, part of our food spree

Thou art so savoury, not spicy
With seaweed and cucumber, so pleasant
Edifying, too as we eat with glee
We took our time, enjoying each moment

Shall we compare thee to other foodstuff?
Thou art so heavenly if you ask us
Appreciating thou, we can’t get enough
We give each other treats, not so much fuss

We are looking forward to the next trip
For a change, we might go for fish and chips*

Poetry Prompts Day 14 – OctPoWriMo 2016 – Shameful

unused-shed-at-the-compost-facility-william-sturgell

It wasn’t supposed to be, a clandestine affair
An unused shed which they could use for their passion
It was dark and humid in there and she was scared

They’ve got to sneak in there, somewhere they couldn’t share
Forgot the rest of the world and the decorum they had to shun
It wasn’t supposed to be, a clandestine affair

Shameful and disgraceful they knew and was a furtive affair
Reprehensible and depraved and they both felt beaten
It was dark and humid in there and she was scared

Tried to end this several times but failed to their despair
Met at a wrong time and place, a lot at stake for the action
It wasn’t supposed to be, a clandestine affair

Such a shame, they were not meant to be a pair
Had they met elsewhere sometime, never barren
It was dark and humid in there and she was scared

An unused shed, so disgraceful, that was their lair
Dark and humid, and they couldn’t see the sun
It wasn’t supposed to be, a clandestine affair
It was dark and humid in there and she was scared*

Poetry Prompts Day 13 – OctPoWriMo 2016 – Flowing

waterfall-one

Stridently trickling down, chasing waterfall
Sound of the fountain of life, answering to the call
Cleanses the soul and spirit, but it’s not a cure-all
Drizzling onto me, hoping nothing dodgy befall
A force of nature, who am I to scream and squall?
Both beautiful and brutal, flowing, and I feel small
Splashing like pearls, refreshingly good for one and all*
