Let Your Hair Down

The sound of the drums might be shattering
You’re out of work and money was tight
There’s not a lot of good things life brings
Two choices to be made – to fight or flight

Thieves stripped the room piece by piece
All the signs were not that positive
Don’t worry, keep your head up
Now’s not the time to be cracking up

Don’t dig your own grave
By walking away right now
You just have to be brave
Plow through and then wow

Deal with it head-on
Let your hair down
Brain and perhaps brawn
Try not to get drown

Life’s never smooth sailing
It will surely pass
After winter, there’s spring
It’s always green, the grass

Finding Peace – #writephoto

PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

Is it wrong to search my soul?

So I know what indeed is my role

When I wonder deep down its meaning

And forgiveness I am begging

When I pushed the cobwebs of lies

And each one has his lows and highs

Is it wrong to find atonement?

When there was a creepy silent?

For all who I’ve offended

Out with the truth blurted

For all who are suffering

And the tension it brings

For all who are in pain

Like being in chains

What’s clear is I want peace

All misgivings to decrease
