One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others

gp cat-w-girl fullbodyknit-e1446917225613

One of these things is not like the others
Don’t know which one is not like the others
Is it the full body all knitted?
Or the friends having a cosy night in?
Perhaps the girl with her cat?
I still can’t figure it out
I guess they all belong together
Something to do with being comfy
The knitted body wrap keeps him warm
The friends relaxing with wines and games
And the girl leisurely walking with her cat
I’ll go with that guess – they’re all very comfy!

An Odd Trio

Daily Prompt – Today, you can write about whatever you want — but your post must include, in whatever role you see fit, a cat, a bowl of soup, and a beach towel.

The morning sky was cloudless
And a dark shade of slate grey
I’m longing for a bowl of soup
Something warm and comforting
Like what my mom would make
To repair any bad days I had
To become as good as new
Yes, I think of my mom and her cat
And tears start falling down my cheeks
How I wish to spend more time with her
More days and nights just listening to her tales
If only the Philippines is not that far away
Then I could be at the beach to my delight
Lying down on my beach towel
Swimming with my mom and friends

Short Story Prompt:

They went to the movie theater every week, but today something was different…
there’s something strange. At first she thought it was coincidence, then as it went on, she stopped and think. “This can’t be right. It’s the story of my life, from when I was born, until now.” Then, the people in the film woke up, got out of the stage and asked: “What are you going to do now? Will you tell him…?” He looked at her, puzzled, and asked: “What’s this about?”

Our Days are Numbered

Daily Prompt – What’s the date today? Write it down, remove all dashes and slashes, and write a post that mentions that number.

Numbers are everywhere. We need numbers to be able to buy our stuff, count our money and change. We spend our days, months and years managing our budget, remembering pin numbers for our credit cards and other cards used in different transactions. We count the number of days before Christmas, before our holiday, or even before we retire from work. We have our ID numbers, work numbers, club membership numbers, passport numbers, and they are all very important. My passport number, for instance 09112015 help me go to different countries. And luckily, 4 of them are also my pin number for my debit card, which ones, I won’t tell you. And the rest of the numbers are the numbers we use for the lottery. Wish us good luck then. Cheers!

Writing 101, Day 6: The space to write

What are your writing habits?
What equipment or supplies do you use to write?
What do you need and want in a physical space?

DSCN0015 DSCN0002

In the summer, I write in the garden
where the birds and the bees join me
the scents of the flowers give inspiration
when the weather is not nice and it’s cold
I’m in the study with my laptop, books, papers
a big window by my side so I can see out
a big flask of tea also by my side
listening to classical music or opera
sometimes I can also work in silence
I usually write first thing in the morning
before I go to work and also when I’m back
when I’m “in the zone” I can be anywhere
in cafes, busses, trains, parks, libraries

“Readers, what would you like me to write about in the future?” Any comment is appreciated, thanks ❤

“Curiosity Killed The Cat” – #SoCS Nov. 7/15 “cat”

Hello everyone 🙂 Meet Marie Curie, our she-cat who’s having an affair with the neighbour’s ram-cat Clint. They go in and out of our cat flap and fight like cats and dogs. They’ve got some friends in the neighbourhood and sometimes we get to cat-sit some of them when neighbours go on holiday.

By the way, I’ll be celebrating my first anniversary of blogging by the end of the month and I’m like a cat that got the cream – happy and contented! And to think that I’ve always thought that I don’t have a cat in hell’s chance, with lots of great bloggers around. I was feeling nervous when I started like a cat on a hot tin roof. I thought I’ll see which way the cat jumps first before I commit myself. Now, I’m happy blogging away. I’m having fun!

I let the cat out of the bag by revealing that I wore a cat suit for Halloween – good gracious, me! I knew it – I’ve put the cat among the pigeons and have cause controversy among the ladies’ group. Whoa, let me be! I could do what I want, even when it doesn’t suit me. So what! I try to be a copycat to a famous hepcat. Let me dream for a day… talking of which, time for my catnap!

Cheers everyone and have a lovely weekend 🙂

“I carry from my mother’s womb a fanatic’s heart” by William Butler Yeats

It’s my mother’s birthday tomorrow and like any good daughter, I’m sending her all my love on her birthday. She’s one of my favourite topics here in my blog so here are some of the things that I’ve written before. Hope she likes them. I can’t thank her enough.
Love you Mommy ❤ ❤ ❤

Hello everyone! Hope you had a nice weekend. My mother is my favourite subject, as I blog about her most of the time. She’s beautiful, a classic beauty one can say, a real Filipina, with her long black wavy hair, which she always brush with a natural bristle brush. She goes out with corduroy trousers, silk blouse or fine dresses with intricate prints, like batik. She’s always smartly dressed. She’s in dire need of being complimented, i.e. we always compliment her looks.

She used to work as a Probation Officer, so no one can screw or mess around with her. She’s a tough cookie! She knows that several factors impinge on civil liberties and strike at the basic tenants of judicial system. She also doesn’t bombinate in a vacuum of data, caught between inevitability and uniqueness. That’s one of the valuable lessons she has given us, to be lawful and be aware of our human rights.

What else have we learned from her? Well, we should look after ourselves and our belongings. She loved this antique ceramic vase which was handed down to her by her grandmother. I think she’s going to pass it to one of us, her children. She’s very observant, like she’ll remark on how slanted the rays of the sun through the window and spilled into the room. Or how animal tunnels when incorporated into the design will also allow local wildlife to cross. She’s good with details like this, that’s why we love her so.

Oh Mother Dear, with your eyes twinkling like stars in cloudland
Your breath sweeter than sampaguita as we string them into a lei
Your love, patience and smile, always there as you give us a hand
Oh Mother Dear, with your eyes twinkling like stars in cloudland

We cannot show enough gratitude for bringing us up first hand
Your tenderness, completely and sweetly given to us like a bouquet
Oh Mother Dear, with your eyes twinkling like stars in cloudland
We love you to the moon and back and all planets in the milky-way

Her beauty astounds us all
Life’s always a breeze so she flits
Broke into one and a million bits
Of love and care, to us her kids
Of time and devotion, no problem
Always there, served with a smile
And so this is the time to say thanks
And the mission for which it was due
We love you to the moon and back
Our dearest Mom – thanks for everything!

Let me start with this
Although we are different
My Mom and I are the same
Same focus, both cool
We’re not so good in business
Or being tidy
Sometimes we forget some things
It doesn’t matter
When it comes to having fun
We know what to do
The town is always painted
Red, blue or yellow
That’s why I miss her so much
Would do anything for her

To you, my audience of one
Mother, dear, where have you gone?
Normally, you’re always beside me
And that’s the way it’s got to be
In thoughts perhaps, because we’re apart
You’re there and I’m here and we’ll part
And yet the sun shineth down for all eternity
Have often spent twice over in mirth & hilarity
My number one fan, cheering me to go on
Regret, though, is a rough sheet to sleep on
Thanks for all the love you’ve given me
And yet the smell of adobo* returns me

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles – Daily Prompt and Wordle 163

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, or car? (Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)

ob1 ob2

cycling float1

rainbow pony2

We’re leaving on a jet plane
The jet engine propels the aircraft
Mind you, the plan’s still fluid
Countless ways to travel
We can take the Queen Elizabeth ship
Which was launched in 2010
But then I’m not really good with ships
Our car’s quite sturdy for different terrain
We can also go on our bikes, why not?
By foot so we can see the paving
Smell the scents of the flowers
The trees and the grass on the fields
Meet jovial and all sorts of people
We could perhaps chase some butterflies
Or the rainbow, see the gold at the end
