Locked – Con-Verse

The Con-Verse, created by Connie Marcum Wong, consists of three or more 2-line rhyming stanzas (couplets). The meter of this form is in syllabic verse.

Rhyme scheme: aa,bb,cc,dd,ee
Meter: 7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,11,11

(Syllabic verse only counts the number of syllables in a line.)

This form consists of three or more couplets which ascend by one syllable up to and until you reach a syllabic count of eleven which would contain ten lines.

This process may be repeated for a longer verse. If repeated, you must begin your first couplet with the syllabic count of seven again and continue from there.

Double lock safe for my bike
I don’t worry when I hike

Some secrets kept behind locked door
I’ve lost the key for the drawer

I saw a golden locked little girl
She smiled at me as she danced and twirled

B&P’s Shadorma & Beyond – List Poem

things we have to do in spring
change tyres to summer ones
have the car checked and washed
sort out some clothes, some to give away
in “Kleiderspende” or send via “Balikbayan Box”
put winter coats and boots away
have winter coats dry cleaned and hanged
buy new seeds and plants
Him Indoors works in the garden
put three tortoises out in the garden
give them dandelions from the fields
take lots of photos of buds and flowers
cycle to beer gardens and parks
hurray for spring!!!

TBBOL Chapter 4.0 : Hobbies !

aQ1tjzZ

My hobbies:
1. Blogging – loving it! First thing in the morning, I check my emails then answer all the comments on my blogs. I love blogging, writing some fiction, poetry and non-fiction, posting some photos, reading, liking and commenting on other bloggers’ work. Blogging community is amazing!
2. Reading – I read a lot! from romance, thriller, horror, comedy, autobiographies, etc. I seem to have books all over the house, reading them during the day. And my kindle must have around 300 books and I take it on holidays.
3. Cycling – with Him Indoors, our Sunday cycling to the beer gardens and parks. Our favourite place is Ostpark where there’s a lake with three fountain, just hanging around there and watching the ducks, geese, swans, model boats, people eating and drinking.
4. Swimming – with Him Indoors on Thursday mornings, before he goes to work and me, before I do other things. We’re part of early swimmers, half an hour swim then ten minutes in the Jacuzzi – a lovely way to start our day.
5. Shopping – till I drop! I love shopping, feeling the materials, fitting dresses, trying them on, looking at the mirrors, retail therapy some people call it. I love it! I go with my friend, then we have lunch or coffee afterwards.
6. Travelling – love seeing new and exciting places. With Him Indoors, we have been to different parts of the world, with their own cultures and traditions and sense of fun.

Summer Tollwood

This week’s photo prompt is provided by S. Writings. Thank you S. Writings!

What we did last summer
We had some fun, cycled, hiked
Had some grill in the garden
Went to parks and beer gardens
Also ate tons of ice-creams
Best part was the summer Tollwood
At Olympiapark with lots of concerts
“It’s a matter of attitude” that was the motto
Tom Jones, Joan Baez, Patti Smith – cool
Their concerts were smashing
Cosy markets with different handicrafts
From India and other parts of Asia
I bought a scarf and a frilly summer dress
Then there were these vibrant painted cows
Two cow sculptured from old car parts
Painted and were centre pieces of Tollwood

20 Days of Chill: A dose of vitamin N (Day 8)

2016_Day-8

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
We’ve all had them. These were the times when life was full of roses and innocence, of experiments and fun, of being with families and friends. These were some of my recollections.

“You’re it!” I didn’t see her as she pointed to me, called my name and said, “You’re it!” I’ve got to look for them hiding around our street. It was getting dark so it was tough finding them. However, I knew Thor would be hiding at his usual place, my brother kissing our neighbour in one corner and I’d managed to locate Bethcha. Before long we had to go back to our houses and ate our dinner. Other days, we’d play patintero (try to cross my line without letting me touch or catch you), tumbang preso (hit the can), piko (hopscotch) or luksong-tinik (lit. jump over the thorns of a plant). Sometimes we’d rent some bikes and circled around our neighbourhood.

We were always there
Come Holy Week or All Saint’s Day
And don’t forget the harvest time
And all the fiestas – they were always fun
All our cousins were there
Tatang’s farm was always open
We all slept together on the floor
Snoring, people talking in their sleeps
Playing till the sun came down
Swimming and splashing in the creek
And Tatang washing his carabao
Fresh unpasteurised milk in the morning
We just poured it with steaming rice
We usually added salt and ate with our hands
And on the way to the creek, we had fruits
Mangoes, lansones, bananas as we picked them
On harvest time it was fun, people singing
Grounding some rice and peanuts and coconuts
We made some nice dish, I forgot what it was called
Perhaps we’d never be all together or experienced the same fun
As we are all over the world and the farm was not there anymore
But we’d always remember the fun we shared
On Tatang’s farm in Culianin, Plaridel, Bulacan

NOWADAYS
A dose of Vitamin N is very important. I love walking or cycling around and be in nature. The smell of flowers and plants, being in the woods, mountains, lakes, etc is great! I like to observe all the changes, flowers blooming, hedgehogs and squirrels, birds building their nests, singing or migrating somewhere warm.

I was a butterfly fluttering around the fields. I’ve just woken up from a cocoon and I was very hungry. I ate some leaves and drank some nectars from some flowers. It was refreshing. And now, I have the full view of the wonderland, the sky was clear, the ocean was majestic, the mountains were impressive. What a glorious feeling being able to fly.
