A cat in a hat by the steps
He’s alert when he hears footsteps
Purrs when I pass, that makes me gay
The cat in a hat makes my day

Sometimes he plays with other cats
With bobcats, tomcats and wildcats
And sometimes he catches his prey
The cat in a hat makes my day

When he catch a mouse, he’s so proud
I stroke his head and he meowed
I swap his hat to a beret
The cat in a hat makes my day

A cat in hat by the steps
The cat in a hat makes my day

The Cat in a Hat – Photo-Fiction #46

A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet). Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. This would also re-enforce the refrain within the poem. Therefore, a good rhyming scheme for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be:

AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB.

Who wants to be a cat?

Who wants to be a cat? Everyone?
When you’re expected to come up trumps
Old ladies stroke me as I purr, that was fun
And I always get some lumps in dumps

After all, I’ve got nine lives to live
I was struck by a thunder and lightning once
What an experience, that was massive
I didn’t see it from a distance

When I was at the edge of the world
A drunkard saw me and mended me
He put me in a safe place as I furled
He waited with me in the dark alley

He bound me with some old rag that saved me
A prophet could be guiding me, so they say
He hold me as if I was a baby
When I was better he was on his way

Giving hope to some cats in the circle
However sleepy I could be
Every day was different, life wasn’t dull
I love being a cat coz I’m always free

“Curiosity Killed The Cat” – #SoCS Nov. 7/15 “cat”

Hello everyone 🙂 Meet Marie Curie, our she-cat who’s having an affair with the neighbour’s ram-cat Clint. They go in and out of our cat flap and fight like cats and dogs. They’ve got some friends in the neighbourhood and sometimes we get to cat-sit some of them when neighbours go on holiday.

By the way, I’ll be celebrating my first anniversary of blogging by the end of the month and I’m like a cat that got the cream – happy and contented! And to think that I’ve always thought that I don’t have a cat in hell’s chance, with lots of great bloggers around. I was feeling nervous when I started like a cat on a hot tin roof. I thought I’ll see which way the cat jumps first before I commit myself. Now, I’m happy blogging away. I’m having fun!

I let the cat out of the bag by revealing that I wore a cat suit for Halloween – good gracious, me! I knew it – I’ve put the cat among the pigeons and have cause controversy among the ladies’ group. Whoa, let me be! I could do what I want, even when it doesn’t suit me. So what! I try to be a copycat to a famous hepcat. Let me dream for a day… talking of which, time for my catnap!

Cheers everyone and have a lovely weekend 🙂
