Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Open Topic

a girl in fringe, pretty in red
On my way to work, I took the train
Always on time, people come and go
Off to work, off to school, off somewhere nice
Mums taking little Toms and Marys to school
Tom’s still sleepy, Mary’s fussing on her coat
Teen-agers with their nonchalant ways
Boys talking about football last night
Girls busy gossiping and tossing their hair
Grannies on their way to the supermarket
Or could be their coffee mornings
And some don’t even know where they are
A lot with their laptops and mobile phones
Playing games, chatting and surfing
Listening to music, some very loud ones
A few still reading good old newspapers
And some with their pocketbooks
I’m one of them, clutching my book
Some very lucky ones with their luggage
Hopefully going somewhere nice
I’m off on the next stop
Time to say good-bye
Have a nice day everyone!

Daily Prompt – Today, you can write about whatever you want — but your post must include, in whatever role you see fit, a cat, a bowl of soup, and a beach towel.
The morning sky was cloudless
And a dark shade of slate grey
I’m longing for a bowl of soup
Something warm and comforting
Like what my mom would make
To repair any bad days I had
To become as good as new
Yes, I think of my mom and her cat
And tears start falling down my cheeks
How I wish to spend more time with her
More days and nights just listening to her tales
If only the Philippines is not that far away
Then I could be at the beach to my delight
Lying down on my beach towel
Swimming with my mom and friends

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, or car? (Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)
We’re leaving on a jet plane
The jet engine propels the aircraft
Mind you, the plan’s still fluid
Countless ways to travel
We can take the Queen Elizabeth ship
Which was launched in 2010
But then I’m not really good with ships
Our car’s quite sturdy for different terrain
We can also go on our bikes, why not?
By foot so we can see the paving
Smell the scents of the flowers
The trees and the grass on the fields
Meet jovial and all sorts of people
We could perhaps chase some butterflies
Or the rainbow, see the gold at the end
Many of us had imaginary friends as young children. If your imaginary friend grew up alongside you, what would his/her/its life be like today? (Didn’t have one? write about a non-imaginary friend you haven’t seen since childhood.)
(Thanks for inspiring this prompt, Olivia!)
Jake’s her name, my imaginary friend
She’s always there, come what may
Even when I left the country
She’s my faithful companion
My strict critique, my conscience
My cheerleader, my ally, my confidante
I guess she grew up with me
And her life is not different from mine
Surrounded by her loved ones
Got a successful career
The ones we said we’d do have been done
We’ve weathered and survived them all
Challenges, hindrances, difficulties
Still going with the flow and wave of life
Enjoying life, its beauty and abundance
Isn’t life wonderful?

Booking the flight for India – yay! That’s what we did this morning and we’re so happy we’ve done it. It’s still for next year, but hey, we’ve got to book it early, right? Talking of next year, it’s going to be a great year for us. Starting in February when we’ll be flying to the Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia for a month. Celebrating our 30 years wedding anniversary, I think we deserve this celebration.
In May, HRH the son and his beautiful K are getting married in the UK and we’re really looking forward to being part of that celebration. Preparing the venue, the number of guests, the hotel, registry office, food, band, outfits, etc. were being considered. Before that, HRH the son is also trying to finish his Masters. K still has another year before she finishes her Masters. A big year for them and wishing them all the best!
Come August, we’re celebrating their union in India, so most of K’s family and relatives can be taking part there, too. We’re looking forward to our trip, which will be consisting of visiting relatives, the reception and touring around Kerala. How cool is that?
Hope you’re all having a gorgeous weekend. Got to go, time to think about dinner, so I’m off cooking…
