Patiently Waiting

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “The Graves” by Joanna Klink: flicker, anchor, water, minor, blur, tender, clear, laughter, unwinding, hovering, rushing, leaning

Flickering in the water
She’s a peaceful ambler
Blurred sinking lantern
A glimpse of him she yearned

No laughter, that’s clear
If he could just appear
No rushing nor hovering
Just patiently waiting

No need for anchor
Just a bit of glimmer
Tender wind leaning
Never stops hoping

Friday Night Music Prompt # 56: The Mary Ellen Carter by Stan Rogers

The ground beneath my feet begins to crumble
I’m left with nothing to hold on to, null
The reality that I’ve created has vanished
I have to admit, I have lost the battle

The world is against me, my fight is extinguished
They have abandoned me, all the ones I cherished
I’ve learned my lessons, time to rise again
I’ve got to prove my worth, finish the unfinished

And all around me, mountains, moor and glen
Rainbows and sunshine, all beyond my ken
Time to rise again, the world is waiting for me
There’s still hope, I’ve got to carry on then

Forget the pain and live life wholeheartedly
Remember to count the blessings gratifyingly
Enjoy the simple things with a nice cup of tea
I have to remember all these, that’s the key*

hope-hero

We’re nearly there and we have to keep going
Praise the Lord for managing to continue
Look, I could see a glint of assurance at the end
The overgrown garden with herbs is my witness
Hush, don’t feel guilty for not doing other things
As the leaves sway with the winds, be happy
Our sense of woe slowly disappearing
We are compelled to continue until the end
To give us some sort of satisfaction and hope

(5) Words: | TEST | POTION | MUSE | OWN | SIGN |

potofgold.gif~c200

The Eco/The Echo – Word count (3 – 5 – 4 – 6 – 6 – 3) A four stanza poem

Muse is here
Giving us a positive sign
Of love and faith
A potion needed for all troubles
Testing mankind if we can handle
Our own destiny

Test of time
Sign of friendship and courage
Muse is always there
Giving support to those who asked
Helping us to choose our priorities
Potion of hope

Is it a remedy?
For all the heartache and tribulation?
When there’s nothing else?
When we thought it’s the end?
And no one notice our sorrow?
Let’s not despair

Don’t lose hope
It’s always there at the side
Let’s seek and find
Gold at the end of rainbow
Light at the end of tunnel
Go grub it

Nosey Neighbours and Hope

maxresdefault

The Smiths just moved in and were greeted by nosey neighbours
They said hellos, answered some questions, all in playful banters
At first it was alright
Some remarks were trite
Then they realised it’s best to keep to themselves and not give answers
