The Sandbox Writing Challenge #45 — Take A Stand!

overs-easter-island-b3g7j4-1680x1050

I
am small
feeling small
feel embarass
when I’ve said something I shouldn’t have said
when I’ve done something I shouldn’t have done
don’t look at me
what to do
help me
yes
you
don’t laugh
just because
made a mistake
can I be forgiven for what I’ve done?
can we go back to where we were before?
I beg of you
pretty please
mercy
thanks

Such Misstep – A Rondelet

The Rondelet is a French form consisting of a single septet with two rhymes and one refrain: AbAabbA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats. The refrain is written in tetra-syllabic or dimeter and the other lines are twice as long – octasyllabic or tetrameter.

Such misstep
Has been done and cannot be undone
Such misstep
Has made me carry this heavy schlepp
I guess it’s late to ask for a bargain
I give up, I know when I’m beaten
Such misstep

Writing 101 – Day 6: Fallacy

You’ve eroded your own vegetation
A bargain but the soil was barren
With scarce strength and rain
I don’t know how to explain
Not nurturing what should have been
You thought you could always spin
The crows kept revisiting the place
There’s no way you could be traced
Weaving some false hope and gloom
A cavalier which was what I presume
Rooted on despair, doubt and anguish
Sometimes, garish, foolish or freakish
Last time you promised something
Didn’t budge though I kept on begging
You didn’t keep the promise
How could you be so callous?
Cells kept on moving about
With you there’s always a doubt
Don’t know where to go
I could have said no
I thought you were the one
I thought you were my beacon
But it wasn’t meant to be
Sad but there’s never a “we”

#SoCS Dec. 5/15 – “miss”

Once again, a laser-guided bomb had missed its target and caused a lot of casualties. The plot thickens. The bombings, retaliations, war on ground and complicated ploys miss the point. We need some diplomatic solutions and hope that one day peace comes to us all.

Hi everyone, peace to all of us! It’s the weekend again and somehow I feel like I’m missing something. My friends decided to have a trip to Barcelona last week and I couldn’t come because of work. I totally missed out on that trip. Next time, guys! It’s been toxic at work. I nearly missed my bus the other day, missed hitting my target and missed meeting an important client – such a mishap!

One thing I won’t miss is Christmas shopping. I’ve been shopping early so I can miss the crowds. Mind you, there’s not a lot to buy, I hope I don’t miss friend D again, but anyway, he’s rich enough, he won’t miss a present. I miss my family and friends all over the world, and the ones who were no longer with us. I miss my Dad most of all.

Oh, by the way, if I have missed your blog out, having promised you a link, please drop me a line and I’ll sort it out. That’s it from me. Have a lovely week everyone!

Remembering Mondays Finish the Story

mondays-finish-the-story

Hello everyone! Just like Nortina and the others, I miss Barbara Beacham and her Mondays Finish the Story prompts. In memory of Barbara, I’m also sharing two of my favourite stories from the challenge. Be Well, everyone!

My Mom and I

Finish the story begins with: “Are you laughing at me?“

There she was, my mother, still with humour while smelling the orchids I gave her.

“Yes, Mom, it was funny. For the sake of vanity, you broke your wrist.” And we laughed again.

I have just arrived three hours ago from Germany. I was looking forward to this holiday. Everything was planned and booked. The manicurist arrived and we were going to have our nails painted. My Mom went to her room, looking for her favourite nail polish. It was on top of her wardrobe, so she climbed on the chair to get it.

We heard her shout and found her slumped on the floor. We took her to the hospital, they x-rayed her left wrist and found that it was broken into pieces. They have re-aligned it and put a fibre glass cast. So, the first two days of my holiday were spent in the hospital. We laughed together.

Sorry!

Finish the story begins with: “A body suddenly crashed through a plate glass window at the Brigadier’s house.”

The Brigadier, his wife and their guests came to inspect what caused the crashed.

One of the SWAT teams was removing some broken glass from his uniform. Men in their black uniforms and weapons entered through the window. They shouted: “Don’t move. Put your hands up. We meant no harm. We just want Brigadier Delos Santos.”

“I’m Brigadier Santos, what do you want?” the tall man said.

“We’re arresting you for embezzling some companies,” said the Captain.

“You utter fools, you got the wrong Brigadier. I’m Brigadier Santos, Brigadier Delos Santos lives on the next hill!”

“So sorry, Sir, we’ll blame the Intelligence for this. We’ll pay for the damage.” They left very apologetic.
