Passionate – Daily Prompt

Zeus heard words that some creature was passionate about his wife Hera. This creature was hanging around in the forest while Hera was doing her duties as a goddess. Although Zeus was not a faithful husband, he easily got angered by this news. He hurled lightning bolts and caused violent storms without delay that wreaked havoc on earth. Swarm of insects were also thrown out to that creature, punishing him and the rest of the humans for falling in love with his wife. The earth used to be thriving with life, humming with magical energy that echoed in the mountains. Now, it was booming with thunder and lightning. That creature shouldn’t have made Zeus angry.

The siren call of desire
Wrecking my whole existence
Scorching me like a fire
Satiating me in every instance

Every fragment of my being
Still longing to be with you
The ecstasy that you bring
When you’re away I’m blue

What have you done to me?
My yearning swelled to a roar
To all my being here’s the key
You hit me right to the core

Your wild ways and salty language
Make me foolish with craving
You’re my complete package
To you I absolutely cling

The Lovers

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “After Fifty Years” by William Faulkner: empty, shade, echoes, bent, birds, crown, mirrors, softness, blind, scent, body, snare

By the shade of the old oak tree
No one else there, just empty
Echoes of birds twittering
Cricket chirping, wind blowing
He and she mirror each other
They kiss with certain ardour
Her scent snares him
Fills his desire to the brim
The softness of her body
Makes him full of glee
The manliness in him
Like singing in a hymn
Crowning with passion
Two bodies become one
Bent on partaking each other
And stay there as they were
