Thursday Photo Prompt – Passage #writephoto

birth of pride
walk in a trance
where people seek, meet, greet and sometimes flirt
lights coming from the ceiling and the door
come in or out
you’re welcome
have fun

Without words

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “Regarding (Most) Songs” by Thomas Lux: voice, sing, trills, banal, primal, dumb, without, means, noise, plaintive, joyful, words

Voice singing many joyful words
So plaintive to see some dark clouds
Primal means from the clouds and birds
In the form of rising mounds shrouds

Without words think of looming gloom
Banal trills coming from the crowds
Cotton clouds bring hope I assume
In the form of rising mounds shrouds

Noise from faraway one can hear
Hope of better days as bright clouds
I see you soon to give me cheer
In the form of rising mounds shrouds

Voice singing many joyful words
In the form of rising mounds shrouds*

* A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet). Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. This would also re-enforce the refrain within the poem. Therefore, a good rhyming scheme for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be:

AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB.

Healing ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #58

I have known shadowy delight
A crystal sea, tranquillity
The moon orbits around with glee

A place for all of us to share
Seven continents make it up
Oceans and seas are the line-up

With peaceful healing it’s my home
And the rest of men and beasts, too
Amazing world and the sky’s blue

Its forests, deserts and mountains
Savannah, tundra, swamps and hills
Marsh and others all parts of frills

And so to honour this great earth
We have to treat it kindly so
Respect it so we can all grow

Creation ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #56

This is a model boat HMS Bounty that Him Indoors made. It took him a couple of years to build it, but his patience and creativity paid off. He worked on it meticulously, thought about ways to bend the wood, sewed the sails and all the other details. I admired him for it. It kept him busy, especially when the weather wasn’t good so he could work in the cellar. Well done, Him Indoors!

Two years ago, we gave him this kit for HMS Victory and he loved it. He started working on it. It’s a bigger project than the HMS Bounty but I’m sure he loves the challenge. He’s halfway there. Good luck, Him Indoors!

Withering ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #54

Juicy apples grow
The sun is brightly shining
Fun autumn weather

Withering flowers
Wind has caused yellow leaves fall
Nature is weary

Fountain shimmering
As we walk by the moonlight
Wind brushes the leaves

Sky flushes with gold
Feeling the chills in our bones
Didn’t want this to end

Autumn’s golden voice
Sing with song of fruits and flowers
Hills fled from our sight

Blue ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #53

sky3 sky1 sky4

Blue skies in town
Happy as a clown
Met my friend for lunch
Actually more like a brunch
Had sashimi and green tea
Small Japanese kiosk in the alley
That was delightful
Best one, not to be bashful
Walked around town
In easy fashion, slowdown
Pedestrian zone, no cars
Lots of bars and bazaars
Street scenes were fun
Was able to strike a bargain
Musicians, artists, vendors
Ladies met some bachelors
People walking, eating, smiling
Bonding, chuckling, biking, bumming
Sitting down, chatting, enjoying the sun
Pretended I bought a lottery ticket and won

Shadows ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #52

Spring with our shadows
Ladylee and Him Indoors
Winter with our shadows

Together we glow and grow
In mountains, seas and moors
Spring with our shadows

Things we care to know
Went through a lot of tours
Winter with our shadows

Sunshine, rain, wind and snow
Filling up and making our memoir
Spring with our shadows

We met thirty two years ago
Went through oceans and shores
Winter with our shadows

With health we’re aglow
You’re mine, I’m yours
Spring with our shadows
Winter with our shadows*
