Write Now Prompt for September 20, 2016 – Rain

tumblr_lv6bvbfp6e1r1yutvo1_500

The rain was needed
but the timing of the storm
couldn’t have been worse

He was not going to allow the cold
Wind-driven rain to change his plan
The sound of the rain around him enfold
Even the thunder cannot make him run

He approach all with a single aim
And that is to win, no matter what
He has to lay claim on the dame
It takes a lot of courage and gut

In each level, he has to play fair
A key player of life, with a glint of hope
He’s always been fair and square
No matter what, he’s always able to cope

Taking everything with a grain of salt
But then she came and everything changed
The whole world seems to halt
Doesn’t want her to be estranged

Attaching to her like glue, losing his mind
But she wants to go where no one has been
He held her hands, their fingers entwined
She was nowhere to be seen, to his chagrin

And suddenly at this present phase, he’s lost
He has to start from scratch and that’s tough
He was physically and mentally exhausted
He should carry on, what he did wasn’t enough

#SoCS July 16/16 -“if/then”

If the rain stops, then we can cycle to the beer garden. We’ll have a picnic, complete with our Bavarian tablecloth which we take on our bike rides. I can have the grilled fish and then an ice-cream later, don’t forget the wheat beer, too.

If the son skypes, then we can talk about the holiday, well their wedding in India really. The son and his beautiful bride got married in May in the UK and next month is their Indian wedding. Looking forward to it.

If the clothes get dry, then I can iron or fold them. Or better still, I can start packing. I’m off to the UK next week to see my mother before she goes back to the Philippines. My friend is coming with me, so we’ll be touring her, too. My friend only stays until a week on Tuesday and I stay until a week on Sunday. When she leaves, my mother and I can travel to Chester for a couple of days, for a real mum-daughter bonding.

That’s it from me today. Have a gorgeous weekend, wherever you are then.

Details – Photo Challenge

This is a model boat HMS Bounty that Him Indoors made. It took him a couple of years to build it, but his patience and creativity paid off. He worked on it meticulously, thought about ways to bend the wood, sewed the sails and all the other details. I admired him for it. It kept him busy, especially when the weather wasn’t good so he could work in the cellar. Well done, Him Indoors!

Two years ago, we gave him this kit for HMS Victory and he loved it. He started working on it. It’s a bigger project than the HMS Bounty but I’m sure he loves the challenge. He’s halfway there. Good luck, Him Indoors!
