Thursday photo prompt – Secrets #writephoto

secret

mystery
there’s an eerie feeling
and the light’s so bright at the window
spirits are uneasy, if only they could talk
an abandoned house with history
what was it, we don’t know
enigma

paradox
war or peace, night or day
a clandestine affair
furtive meeting of a secret club
an untrustworthy deal that went horribly wrong
or it was an old ancestral home
where children grew and left
not came back*

Secret – Weekly Writing Challenge #56

Five Words: [ PROOF – SHARE – SECRET – BEND – SCOOP ]

Hey, I have a secret to share
Really, a big scoop, I swear
There’s no need to have all the proofs
It might be like movie spoofs, without a care

It appears that we were misled
They have bended the truth instead
Somehow we’ll try to get even
All these tales that have been spun, have been spread*

* The Florette, created by Jan Turner, consists of two or more 4-line stanzas.

Rhyme scheme: a,a,b,a
Meter: 8,8,8,12
Fourth line requirement of internal (b) rhyme scheme, on syllable 8.

Like the outgrowing of a small flower, the forth line of each stanza is longer, and enwraps the previous lines. Line #4 requires an internal rhyme scheme that rhymes the eighth syllable with the end of line #3, and continues to add on four more syllables than the other lines so that the fourth line ends rhyming with lines #1 and #2.

In Search of Atlantis

Atlantis

Atlantis, where would you be?
Just jiggle if you can hear me
My Uncle Beau has feet of a sow
I’ve always dreamt of milking the cow

Atlantis, how could you be so elusive?
I find that numbers are an easy alternative
Transferred to the dreams of the unaffected
For in black the Madonna was highlighted

Atlantis, am I seeing what I’m seeing?
All the spirits have began humming
The snow leopard will soon be back
All horses running on racetrack

Atlantis, are you here to stay?
It was Grendel that Beowulf did slay
And you find yourself at the bottom of the lake
I’m familiar with that! For goodness sake

Atlantis, how wonderful can you be?
And perhaps spin into how you must be
Nonstop raids on my liveliness and mind
I have fallen into the perplexity of my mind

The Secret Path

index

There’s a secret path
Confined behind the waterfall
Magical garden
A place with strange creatures
Having a party
A cherry blossom party
I was invited
Nymphs, mermaids, fairies and others
Mythical creatures
All frolicking around and happy
Singing and dancing
Playing games, eating, drinking
Like there’s no tomorrow
In this breezy paradise
Where there’s no limit
Of what you like to achieve
I revere that view
I want to be part of that
I was mesmerised
From this brilliant dream
The alarm clock keeps buzzing
I need to wake up and work

Can you keep a secret?
Between us
I know I can always trust you
Can’t be stuck in a rut
What’s the fuss?
Got to share this or else I’m blue

Hide under a blanket
Cat is plus
Here are some sweets for us to chew
We go to the market
On a bus
Then we go and see my Andrew

He gave me a bracelet
Like Christmas
I’m so happy I think I flew
Then we went for doughnut
That’s bonus
He’s my boyfriend, all toys adieu

Writing 101, Day 9: Camouflage

Now you see me, now you don’t
Will you miss me if I’m absent?
Camouflaged perfectly well
Putting the matter in a nutshell

A normal being going through life
Will I see you in our afterlife?
The crickets chirped tediously
A caterpillar wanted to be free

A wasp embedded in an amber
A chameleon changing its colour
I’m falling on the edge of the abyss
I’m muddled but couldn’t give it a miss

My flesh is weak and I’m drifting away
I acted like a fool and I was led astray
It was a tame affair but still hidden
What was done couldn’t be undone

A secret so to speak in the mist of tides
I wish I could just take them in strides
From a poppy seed to certain flings
Nothing to whirl and have that strut

On both mind and body it takes its toll
Love soars from earth to infinity
For love of love, or heart’s solitude
Who cry for shadow and cannot tell

Begrudge I come with a plea
Never a sunny day for a feud
Tried to stifle the thoughts
Life is full of different plots
