The Chateau

The first time we had a peek on the chateau, we fell in love with it. OK, it required a lot of renovation but we didn’t mind that. The floorboard can be stripped, sanded and polished, the windows can be double-glazed and the roof tiles can be changed. We can remodel the garden and create a new parking space. It would be a labour of love for our retirement. We’ve always wanted to retire to the country and this could be ideal. We have a meeting with the owner next week and hopefully they accept our offer.

Earthquake – Write Now! and Three Words, Day 160

Day 160 words – lifting, bites, impressive, implode, following

Today’s Prompt:

The store clerk looked suspiciously at the money as the shopper handed it to him.

To be sure, Anton checked the money through the scanner. It was OK, not fake. He was impressed, provided the shopper the following items he wanted – beers, crisps, some magazines and sweets. Anton then gave the shopper his change and wished him a good day. The shopper went out with his stuff.

All of a sudden, an earthquake occurred. Anton was unprepared, the whole shop seemed to be rocking. The window to his left arched inwards, then imploded in a spray of matted glass. Thanked God he was spared and was able to move away from that damaged part.

Soon it was calm again. He checked the shop, lifted some items from the floor, swept the debris caused by the earthquake, went out and had something to eat, a bite or so. He was still a bit shocked.

Sheena and Her Car – Finish It! #16 and Three Words

cars3

She knew she’d hit something. But what? She saw the shade suddenly jumping or running right in front of her car. Oh no! Her heart was racing while she got out of the car. Maybe it was just her imagination. Maybe it was the fog and the darkness setting in. Maybe she did not hit anything. Maybe it was just the fog. But she felt it too. She slowly made her way to the front of the car. And then her heart froze. There it was.

A deer – on the roof of her car! Poor deer – she didn’t mean to hit it. Oh no, not today! Michael would be furious when he sees the damage it caused in the car – again! Last time, Sheena nearly went to the lake when it skidded through the rain. They have also just replaced the tyres because she kept on driving it home even though the “tyres alarm” was blinking and she didn’t bother stopping. Not knowing she had a flat tyre! The tyre marks were still on their street. Sheena and car system – they don’t really get on, even though she loves her red Mini.

Oh well, at least they’ll have venison tonight…

A Moment in Time – FFfAW Week of 05-13-2015, Finish It! #7 and Three Words

This week’s photo prompt is from pricelessjoy.
This week’s photo prompt is from pricelessjoy.

His hands were trembling. He wasn’t sure what to do. He wasn’t sure what to think. All he knew was it was now or never.

Albert knew that the longer her waits, the moment might pass. That he will not be able to say it, that they will be talking about something else. And so he has to go back to the real world.

The moment when the crimson sky is spreading out across the sky like scarlet blood exploding over a large canvass, as the golden sun sinking behind the classic landscape. The moment when five ducks are waddling assertively across the park where they are sitting down. The moment when everything is peaceful and tranquil.

On bended knee, he produces a slender band with a single diamond ring and asks: “Rosemarie, will you do the honour of being my wife?”

Lost Passport – Write Now and Three Words

blue Santorini

He arrived at the airport only to discover he had lost his passport.

He couldn’t believe what has just happened. He was looking forward to this trip. He looked everywhere – his suitcase, his hand luggage and his pockets, including all the papers, he rummaged through them – still no passport.

Now, when was the last time he saw his passport? Was it when he was out in the fields? You see, he’s a parole and probation officer, investigating or interviewing a lot of people. Was it when he submitted his reports? No, he doesn’t think so.

When was the last time he needed his passport? Ah, that glorious summer with Samantha. They went to Santorini, what a majestic place! They had a lovely week, just looking at the view. They climbed up and down the hills, ate some delicious Greek food, mostly seafood. It was like being in heaven.

Anyway, back to the airport. He had no choice but to cancel his flight and go back home. He had to search his house for that passport and if he still cannot find it, he has to report its lost. All the paperwork and phoning he has to do. He wasn’t looking forward to it.

The Final Hurdle – Write Now and Three Words

Everyone was going to be at the party, but he had to study for the most important test of his life.

It was his final exam. The last hurdle before he reach his destination. He could almost touch the finish line, just a bit more patience and hard work. Three years in the university has given him enough independence to know what he was capable of doing, what he really wanted to be in this world. He knew he had to make some sacrifices if he wanted to succeed.

Never mind that he’s missing the best party in midtown tonight. That Michelle might be there, too. Oh Michelle, how can one lady has all the right combination of beauty, grace, intelligence and other good qualities? He has been admiring Michelle since he saw her at the library, with her long brown hair and a lovely smile.

He had to concentrate on his work and not think of what it could have been. That he would meet Michelle at the party and they would talk and dance all evening. One day, he’ll meet Michelle. Just let him pass this important test of his life.

Three Word Wednesday Week No. 420 and 3 Words Day 121- Her Flawless Face

IMGP0784

One such glorious day
Though it’s a chilly mayday
The wind swept her feet
Out on the street for a treat
It caresses her flawless face
Petite body moves with such grace
Tough sustaining its maintenance
Discover all the right balance
She has to eat the right food
Lots of vegetables and seafood
Have enough hours of sleep
Don’t hurt her so she won’t weep
Not stress herself with menial stuff
Like dandruff, handcuff and earmuff
