Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 8 – Charity Christmas Tree Topper Challenge

Merry Christmas to all of you! These were our Christmas trees last year. HRH the son will not be able to come home this Christmas, so Him Indoors and I decided to celebrate it in Murnau, not at home in Munich.

And here were some of our Christmas decorations during the years.

Philippines, My Philippines – Tues Truthiness: My Country ’tis of Thee

Philippines, my Philippines
I’ve known you for years
You gave me fond memories
Of my childhood and early days
I left you when I was 23
To see the other side of the world
It doesn’t matter how far I reached
I’ll always be coming back to you
To admire your beauty and warmth
To see our diverse 7,100 islands
It’s more fun in the Philippines
There’s no place like home!

My Friends – Journal Monday Prompt #13

IMGP0935 IMGP0921

friends2 very6

I was six, she was five, “you’re it!” she said
We played all day, messed around and had fun
Been best friends forever, even until now
When we are not on the same continents
It doesn’t really matter

Got other friends throughout my life
They came, stayed a bit, and then we part
Some still have contact, some not
Because I travelled a lot, that’s why
From one country to another
There was always one or two

Friends I can share secrets with
Friends I love going to parties with
Friends I can go on holidays
Friends with me on my long walks
Friends I can ring in the middle of the night
They can be one person or may be all different

Looking forward to their performance
Market of ideas with different handicrafts
From India and other parts of the world
What else am I looking forward this summer?
We’ve just been to the UK two weeks ago
Next week we’re off to Amsterdam for a weekend
End of July, my goddaughter is getting married
August, Him Indoors’ parents come for a visit
End of August, Sicily here we come

My Mid-Year – Heeding Haiku With HA

My mid-year was full of news and adventure. Started with a big bang in Bavaria with Him Indoors, HRH the son and K, greeted the New Year with fireworks and champagne. We had some grilled food at home and walked around town.

Come February and we were off to India for an adventure of our life time. Him Indoors and I couldn’t believe that we flew in an A380 business class and it was jolly fun. I even made my own drink at the bar, mixing my cocktails. We saw the wonderful Taj Mahal – one of our Bucket’s List. So exotic and the love story behind the building was great! Wish Him Indoors could give me a miniature Taj when I die. And the tigers in the wild, that was awesome! In fact, 2 tigers playing together one morning of our safari tour. We also went to numerous forts, places of interests and ate interesting meals.

April, I was off to the Philippines to see my mother, friends and relatives. We went to visit some of the 7,100 islands in the Philippines. We swam, walked, zip-lined, partied, shopped, etc.

May, HRH the son proposed to K and she said yes! We were all thrilled. They’re planning to get married next year. Looking forward to the wedding of our one and only one treasure.
