The storm came in the middle of the night
Lightning and thunder gave me such a fright
I thought I was brave to stay but not quite
I could have relied on you as my knight
You’ve let me down and I was ever white
I couldn’t keep myself warm in my plight
Windows are all covered with ice in spite
Forming lacy patterns in morning light
And I keep telling myself I’m alright
