Microfiction challenge #19: Under the sea

sjoekungens_drottning_by_john_bauer_1911

under the sea where the mighty king lived
his hair lengthy and his body so lean
the king saw her and made her his captive

we would never know what went in between
why did she keep coming back to the sea?
perhaps he promised her to be his queen

under the sea, there was lots of algae
and the sound of water flowing over
folks said she was as pretty as could be

lady swam into the wide blue yonder
was it to be with him at his kingdom?
pure white beach surrounding the sea azure

sometime later on she wanted freedom
sadly, but there was no way she could leave
she was then bored and he was so loathsome

she kept asking him, he was getting peeved
and then he did something unscrupulous
something horrifying, it made us grieve

that was the anecdote under the sea
she was fiercely taken, she couldn’t flee
under the sea where the mighty king lived
the king saw her and made her his captive*

Snorkelling – Flash Fiction for the Purposeful Practitioner- 2016 Week #41

Great fun to be under the sea
Swimming with the fish and algae
Clear azure sea is amazing
Such adventure this snorkelling

Coral reef is another world
It’s like being in a dream world
I can swim for hours, that’s the thing
Such adventure this snorkelling

Saw a school of fish and turtle
Swimming with them is so blissful
Such a wonderful life, floating
Such adventure this snorkelling

Great fun to be under the sea
Such adventure this snorkelling

snorkelling under the sea
deep silence of nature
admiring life down under
fishes and corals
sharing experience
happy with
you!

Under the sea

under-the-sea-o

THIS WEEK’S WORDS come from “The Mermaids” by Marianne Boruch: spell, concept, offering, badass, whale, dolphin, murderous, whimsy, core, singing, expanse, steely

Under the sea where the steely whale lives

And all the sea creatures living collectives

Fighting with the badass dolphin, that’s the concept

Such an adventure to see being such a nympholept

Quite murderous, in the expanse of the sea

More, more action, I shout as I swim spree

Not a whimsy offering, no singing and dancing

The sound of water flowing over stones babbling

Under the sea, quite a spell if you ask me

That’s quite fun, as in the sea I’m free

Blue ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #53

sky3 sky1 sky4

Blue skies in town
Happy as a clown
Met my friend for lunch
Actually more like a brunch
Had sashimi and green tea
Small Japanese kiosk in the alley
That was delightful
Best one, not to be bashful
Walked around town
In easy fashion, slowdown
Pedestrian zone, no cars
Lots of bars and bazaars
Street scenes were fun
Was able to strike a bargain
Musicians, artists, vendors
Ladies met some bachelors
People walking, eating, smiling
Bonding, chuckling, biking, bumming
Sitting down, chatting, enjoying the sun
Pretended I bought a lottery ticket and won

Water, Water Everywhere

Water, water, water, I love water everywhere
Seas, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, streams, pools
We’ll enjoy splashing around, fair and square
Playing in the rain, relaxing in whirlpools

subtle10

We can drink water, so pure and refreshing
Our body needs water, also when we exercise
Good for our spirit, stops us from ageing
Nice to go sailing, make sure we don’t capsize

hv5

Swimming in the sea, that’s my favourite
Watching the sun as it rises and sets
Having a picnic or an elaborate banquet
Did I tell you about my memorable sunsets?

wh2

Aquatic life is quite entertaining and fun
Like what we feel when the lottery’s won

A Seaman’s Journey

the-boat-and-miss-libertyPHOTO PROMPT- Copyright – Jan Wayne Fields

Hard is the journey of a seaman
Staying on his ship in his cabin
Not seeing land on months on end
Working on holiday or the weekend
Not seeing children as they grow
As long as he keeps sending dough
Not being there on every occasion
His responsibilities, his last bastion
Even though his heart is breaking
Cheers himself up by singing
Life is tough to pursue his dreams
Keeps himself sane by his daydreams
His voyage far and wide around the world
As long as he doesn’t go to the underworld
So many places to an arduous travel end
Leaving behind loved ones and all friends
He yearns for the anchor to bring him home
Enough roaming, just bring him to his home
