JNW’s Halloween Challenge: Knock, Knock

Knock, knock, grapes from the vine
Shine a light, make a brine, that’s fine
Making wine as the grapes burst
One way to quench our thirst
Knock, knock, grapes from the vine
Shine a light, make a brine, that’s fine

The nightingales sing on the temple
On top of the apple tree as they circle
Babes in the woods, cooling by the shade
Laughing as they played and swayed
The nightingales sing on the temple
On top of the apple tree as they circle

Putting salt on the grapes, that’s a no
He’s got an afro hair, that’s a whoa
Prickly heat, well, definitely an ouch
Stand straight, don’t slouch
Putting salt on the grapes, that’s a no
He’s got an afro hair, that’s a whoa

Knock, knock are you there?
I’m here sitting on a chair
Ascend the clouds with the bird
What we said can’t be heard
Knock, knock are you there?
I’m here sitting on a chair

Waiting – Daily Prompt

destiny-courage

There’s a little girl who waits and waits
Her friend borrowed her skates and not back for ages
Mummy will be worried sick
If she’s not back in a tick
Friend hasn’t come back yet, they’re no longer playmates

shrubbed

They’re playing hide and seek and she’s the “it”
She can’t find them, they hide well, she has to admit
It’s getting rather late
She’s got to be home by eight
She gave up looking and shouted she has to quit

sleepless

She can’t sleep, something’s bothering her
She kept on tossing and turning and then she stir
Husband’s fast asleep
She can hear the sheep
And the cat came to the room gently and purr

JNW’s Halloween Challenge: Tricks

tumblr_mftv2hFCaA1ric07zo1_400

There was once a girl named Sabrina
With her dog and they danced cha-cha
She’s also a witch
Sometimes with a glitch
It’s tough learning magic tricks, huh

Abracadabra, I wish for you to be with me here
Fly with the stars, come back and wipe my tear
Waiting for you until the sun goes down
The date, at least to me, is yet unknown
Forget the rest, stay with me and give me cheer

One, two, three and he’s gone
Broke my heart, he’s such a con
With my magic
Head with a brick
Served him right, he’s now bygone

JNW’s Halloween Challenge: Boo!

mama-ghoul

Mama ghoul and her three little kiddies
Went trick and treating at the back alleys
The people were stunned
Mama ghoul got a gun
They got some sweets, they’re such a sleaze

ghoulies

Three Ghoulies standing on the porch
On a blistering pace out they scorched
One was happy two were sad
They want to see their dad
And they forgot to bring their torch

a-witch-prepares

Abracadabra she’s learning her spells
She’s not really good, she usually misspells
She’s got a lot of mishaps
She ends up in a mousetrap
Stuck there for a long time until she smells

ghostly

She was in a forest when two ghosts appeared
They grinned through a jungle of bad facial hair and leered
“Help!” she cried and ran
Until she saw a man in a van
Two ghosts gave up and quickly disappeared

Limerick Challenge Week 36: Fairytale

Alice.in.Wonderland.full.1451133

Alice asked: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
Depends on where you want to go, answered the cat as he sneered
She didn’t really care much
Then, it didn’t matter as such
She carried on walking for as long as she had the right footwear

Limerick Challenge Week 34: Future

Future_city_1000px

The cities in the future, will they be clean streets with flying cars and robots?
Are we going to live virtually and unnaturally with no gardens and flowerpots?
From where I’m standing, it’s quite unwelcoming
Surely it’s not too late to start dreaming and acting
They could be averted altogether or lessened by careful planning and forethoughts
