“They finally made their escape.”

Mark and John were canoeing down the Lungwebungu River when the hippopotamus attacked the canoe and they were thrown overboard. They swam to one of the islands and stayed the rest of the day there. What could they do? They had to survive. They set up camp in the bush using some stuff they could find, avoiding the elephants, crocodiles, hyenas and other wild lives. The crocodiles looked really mean and the hyenas’ hoot and laugh were creepy. Luckily, John’s mobile phone was still with him, so he phoned Antonio who was staying in Livingstone. It took quite a while before Antonio could find them. So when Mark and John heard the Land Rover coming, they knew they would be rescued. (121 words)
