Sticks and Stones – SoCS May 16/15

Sticks and stones will break my bones
But words will never harm me.

One of the nursery rhymes that still sticks in my mind. In fact, I’ve stuck that phrase on the notice board, together with other post it stickers. Which reminds me, I have to write a letter to my friend, who through thick and thin, has always stuck by me, no matter what. Good old friend! Once my letter was inside the envelope, I stuck the envelope – funny that I don’t have to lick the envelope anymore before I stuck it down. Then I took it to the post office.

Sticks, sticks, sticks – who uses sticks? Ah, the policemen and their sticks to control the crowds. Hockey players, polo players, tennis players, they all have their sticks for playing. The pilot pulled back on the stick to fly higher. I still use my stick-shift car – my red Mini and I love it!

I like eating French bread stick or baguette as they call it. I like putting cocktail stick with cherries or olives on my drinks, especially cosmopolitan or hugo. I like using cinnamon stick instead of powder when I cook or bake. I use my Chap Stick or lip balm when my lips are dry.

As for Him Indoor, he loves his digging stick in the garden and his measuring stick for bits and pieces around the house. And of course, we use our memory stick to back-up our files or photos. Anything else? Stick around my friends for some more.

We were invited for dinner. I tried this new dress but the zipper stuck halfway up. Him Indoor had to help me unzipped and zipped it up again. We were driving to the restaurant when that little boy behind us stuck his tongue out to me. Naughty boy! We then met some friends and at the end of the meal, they stuck Him Indoor with the dinner bill. They thought it was funny! They paid for the drinks afterwards, though.
